2010 Hyundai Tucson

hyundaitucsonchicagoAutomotive enthusiasts in Illinois are getting revved up about the 2010 Tucson, saying that the revoluntionary model is a star on the rapidly evolving Hyundai product line.

USA Today‘s Test Drive columnist James R. Healy wrote that the new Tucson was “more pleasant to drive than rivals’ four-bangers.”

“Abetted by Hyundai’s self-designed, excellent shifting, six-speed automatic, the Tucson’s 2.4-liter, 176-horsepower four felt lively, smooth and capable in a day rolling up miles on rural canyon roads, freeways and the Pacific Coast Highway in heavy traffic,” wrote Healy.

Hyundai Crossover Wins Big Among Automotive Enthusiasts

The Tucson is the first Hyundai Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) and was conceived in a global collaboration among Hyundai’s U.S., Korean and European advanced product groups, with design execution led by the Frankfurt design center.

The vehicle features Hyundai’s “Fluidic Sculpture” design language and is a stark contrast from its predecessor, making it a much talked about vehicle among Illinois consumers.

“The style is dramatic: sweep and swoop and angles and edges,” wrote Healy.

Improving in every functional area, from its roomier cabin with extra cargo space to the impressive fuel economy, the Tucson is over 60 pounds lighter than its predecessor despite being three inches longer.

The high-tech cockpit is more spacious than the competitors and the weight efficient unibody architecture adds to the Tucson’s 31 miles per gallon estimated EPA highway rating for Chicago drivers.

Tucson Great Addition to Hyundai’s New, Head Turning Product Line

“Hyundai’s a champion at presenting all the dials, instruments and other hoo-hah you need in stunning simplicity that looks and feels inviting,” wrote Healy.

The 2010 Tuscan was called by the USA Today as a vehicle that is “more refined, more comfortable and more agile” than its competitors.

“[It] could be the new champ among small SUVs,” wrote Healy. “The naysayers will be on board soon enough.”
