2011 Hyundai Elantra Demonstrates Importance of Safety

chicago hyundai“Elantra safety has improved tremendously over the years with the vehicle now earning IIHS’ top safety distinction,” said David Zuby, the IIHS’ chief research officer. “The big things the automakers have done to improve crashworthiness are designing better front crush zones to manage crash energy, stronger occupant compartments to limit intrusion, and stronger roofs to better protect people in rollovers.”

At our Hyundai dealer serving Chicago, there is no surprise that the Elantra has been named a top safety pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. This compact vehicle has safety features such as ESC (Electronic Stability Control) that is paired with Motor-Driven electric Power Steering in addition to six airbags to keep everyone safe no matter what seat you’re in. Just the right balance in safety for your recent graduate going off to college.

“Hyundai is committed to applying the most effective life-saving vehicle technologies and the all-new Elantra is no exception,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president, Product and Corporate Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “The 40 mpg highway 2011 Elantra is proving that compact cars can be fuel efficient while offering tremendous safety.”

The 2011 Hyundai Elantra Hits Chicago

The 2011 Hyundai Elantra has arrived at World Hyundai, a leading seller of the Hyundai Elantra in Chicago.  The 5th generation compact sedan is now available for test-drives and is one of the best and most affordable vehicles around.  In the very competitive compact car segment the Elantra continues to be on a fast four-year lifecycle.  Car buyers will enjoy the 2011 Elantra for its easy to use features, its bevy of features, and its tremendous affordability.

Chicago Hyundai Elantra shoppers can experience all that is new with the 2011 model year including a sophisticated fluid design, advanced safety features and impressive fuel economy.  In terms of appearance, the 2011 Elantra is an evolution of the design qualities found in highly acclaimed Sonata.  Along Elantra’s sides are Sonata’s flowing lines, with the addition of a strong undercut feature line starting at the front door.

These lines, along with muscular wheel arches and a sleek roofline, create a memorable and spacious package. Flowing lines also lead to an aerodynamic body.  Hyundai Elantra shoppers will be impressed with the estimated 40 MPG that the Elantra achieves on the highway.  The 2011 Elantra is more fuel-efficient than the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.

Chicago Hyundai Elantra Boasts Premium FeaturesHyundai Elantra Chicago

Fuel efficiency makes the 2011 Hyundai Elantra in Chicago an obvious choice for longer travels and highway driving, but there are plenty of other reasons why Hyundai shoppers of all lifestyles will appreciate the new Elantra.  Inside, the 2011 Elantra is spacious, providing class-above mid-size car interior volume, touch-screen navigation with rearview camera and iPod®/USB inputs, Bluetooth® hands-free phone system with voice recognition, and heated rear seats (a segment first).

As part of Hyundai’s assurance commitment, the 2011 Hyundai Elantra is packed with advanced safety features, most notably, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM).  Similar to the one found in the Hyundai Equus, VSM optimally manages ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and the Motor-Driven electric Power Steering (MDPS).

VSM works to control two effects.  The first is when a driver accelerates or brakes on a split-mu surface (slippery on one side, dry pavement on the other) and the vehicle wants to pull in one direction.  VSM detects this condition and sends a signal to the MDPS to apply steering assist.  VSM counters the pull and automatically provides 8 Newton meters of counter steering.  VSM reacts the same way during sudden lane changes or fast cornering. ESC is still not standard on the 2011 model year Civic.

This vehicle is a great way to kick those winter blues and be excited.  The 2011 Hyundai Elantra will dazzle with its modern features and affordability.  Hyundai Elantra shoppers who would like to learn more about the latest addition to the Hyundai lineup can find out more calling World Hyundai at 708-279-4256 or visit http://www.worldhyundaimatteson.com.
