World Hyundai, a prominent Chicago Hyundai dealer, is happy to take part in Hyundai’s effort to fight the battle on cancer. Hope on Wheels, an initiative by the Hyundai Corporation, is a proud partner with medical researchers in the fight against cancer. Since 1998, this Illinois Hyundai dealer, along with the other 800 Hyundai dealers across the United States, has partnered in order to help children battle against cancer.
An initiative started by New England area Hyundai dealers to raise funds for The Jimmy Fund, the cause has evolved into Hope on Wheels. As of 2010, the program has helped to raise and donate more than $23 million to various hospitals around the country.

The main avenue of fundraising for Hope on Wheels has been through a $5 donation for every car sold at a Hyundai dealership. This Chicago Hyundai dealer is proud to allow its Hyundai owners in the Chicago area contribute to helping children fight cancer for almost 12 years.
With Hope on Wheels comes the Hope on Wheels Tour. The 2010 Tour traveled to 42 different children’s hospitals across the country and donated over $2 million to researching and further train individuals in the fight against childhood cancer. Another important part of the 2010 Hope on Wheels Tour was the Handprint Ceremonies for childhood cancer patients, past and present.
The symbol for this event was a white Hyundai Santa Fe, a vehicle that was used to celebrate the courage of all childhood cancer patients. Children present at the ceremony were asked to lend their hand and place their handprints on the vehicle to commemorate their battle with cancer.
You may be asking why the handprint was selected as the symbol for the event. This Chicago Hyundai dealer is proud to say that the symbol was selected because the handprint is one of the more personal marks a person can make, something completely natural to each person and unique to each child. The main goal of the Hope on Wheels Tour is to share the stories of children battling cancer and look to give hope to the millions of children out there with cancer.
In September 2010, the Hyundai initiative took on a bigger endeavor than previously seen with Hope on Wheels. This Illinois Hyundai dealer along with the 800 other dealers set out to raise and donate more than $6.8 million for cancer research and training.
When buying a car with Hyundai, it is not completely in the self-interest of making a profit for Hyundai. Their goal, along with that of World Hyundai, is to give back to the community that has given so much to them over the years. Hyundai is always looking to give back to the community in any way possible and the Hope on Wheels initiative is one that will surely help those in need.

World Hyundai serving Chicago Hyundai shoppers couldn’t agree more with a recent NY Times article that suggests the Hyundai brand is on its way to rivaling such luxury automakers like BMW and Mercedes. The Hyundai brand has taken hold in the United States and they have the sales growth to show for it. In 2009, Hyundai was 1 of only 3 automakers whose sales increased in 2009.
Many Chicago Hyundai shoppers choose Hyundai cars over same class competitors because of Hyundai’s unwavering reliability, commitment to excellence, value quality, and price. According to Scott Falcone of World Hyundai, the Hyundai brand offers the total package in a price that fits into most lifestyles and budgets.
In the NY Times article, a Chicago-area electrical contractor, is thrilled with his families two Hyundai vehicles and is already eyeing the luxury Equus that is expected to arrive in Chicago Hyundai dealers this month. “This will go head-to-head with the BMWs and Mercedes,” Mr. Harmon said. “If you test-drive all of them with your eyes closed, you’re going to pick the Hyundai.”
The fact that Hyundai has been posting record sales during one of the auto industry’s most difficult periods speaks volumes for the brand. The Hyundai vehicles are not only affordable and reliable, they are attractive, a key factor for Chicago Hyundai shoppers and one that other automakers have left out of the equation for their price competitive vehicles.
Today’s Chicago Hyundai shoppers aren’t just budget conscious families; they’re luxury care enthusiasts, doctors, lawyers, families, and more. Hyundai’s 2010 models including the Sonata, Genesis Coupe, Tucson and Santa Fe have helped the brand attract a wider range of buyers ranging from young teens to large families.
The NY Times writes, “…Hyundai and Kia are becoming a serious threat to the Japanese dominance of most passenger car segments,” and World Hyundai in Chicago couldn’t agree more.
Mr. Harmon, the Chicago-area electrical contractor, says, “I don’t care if I pull up next to a Porsche in my Santa Fe, because he spent $110,000 for his, and I spent $30,000 for mine, and I like mine more than his.”
